Nathan Bridger: Mr. Obatu, on their propeller. Obatu: It’s already lock, sir. Nathan Bridger: Fire. Miguel Ortiz: Impact. Tim O’Neill: Propeller noise is gone. Miguel Ortiz: She’s dead in the water. Tim O’Neill: Romeo has hull distress. Nathan Bridger: We’re coupling to a sinking boat. Put your best pilot on the second launch. William Shan: Sir, request permission. Jonathan Ford: I was just about to call your name, Helmsman Shan. Nathan Bridger: Mr. O’Neill. - sea launch docked at the Romeo - Ben Krieg: Positive seal on the docking collar. Manilow Crocker: Detail, ready your weapons. (Crocker and Ford blow hatch and open it) Jonathan Ford: This is Commander Jonathan Ford of the UEO. Surrender and prepare to be boarded. (no response) Nathan Bridger: Mr. O’Neill. Tim O’Neill: (in Portuguese) This is the UEO vessel seaQuest. Surrender immediately. Cynthia: (from inside of Romeo) Prove you’re UEO. Nathan Bridger: This is Captain Bridger, you’re taking on water. No time for a debate. Cynthia: (from inside of Romeo) All right. We surrender. Nathan Bridger: (enters Romeo, looks around and sees kids) Med team, on the double. Cynthia: Are you really Nathan Bridger? Nathan Bridger: Yes, I am. Who are you? Kristin Westphalen: (climbs down the ladder) Cynthia! Cynthia: Mom! (they hug) - Romeo, a little later - Tim O’Neill: (Crocker, Ford and O’Neill come down ladder, sparks hit O’Neill) Commander, get back. Nathan Bridger: All right, let’s evacuate. Tim O’Neill: (in Portuguese) Everyone, follow me. Nathan Bridger: Let’s go, we don’t wanna drown here. Manilow Crocker: Come on, let’s go, move it, move it, on the double, let’s go. Cynthia: (in Portuguese) Go. Go. Hurry or we’ll drown. Nathan Bridger: (kids all rush ladder) One at a time. Take it easy. Manilow Crocker: You heard him, one at a time. Cynthia: (in Portuguese) Orderly. Malique: (in Portuguese) Stop! One at a time. Ben Krieg: (on launch) All right, keep ‘em coming, there’s room up front. Tim O’Neill: (in Portuguese) Move up front. Hurry. Hurry! Hurry! Ben Krieg: (on launch) Stay out of the cockpit. (O’Neill repeats in Portuguese) Don’t touch that button. (O’Neill thinks, repeats in Portuguese) Cynthia: There are more up in the bow, but there’s no power. Nathan Bridger: Get us a light. Kristin Westphalen: What are you doing here? Malique: She’s trying to save the children. Cynthia: Death squads are the regional method of birth control. Kristin Westphalen: Aren’t we supposed to be stopping smugglers? Nathan Bridger: So I was told. (walks up to bow, others follow) Kristin Westphalen: (looks at child) Nathan, I need a med unit. Nathan Bridger: Here, take this. (hands light to Malique, goes back to ladder) Manilow Crocker: All right, you’re next partner. Nathan Bridger: Hold it. I gotta get a med unit. (climbs up ladder into sea launch) Med unit. Injury in the bow. Jonathan Ford: I’ll take it. Noyce is trying to reach you. We’ve got to rotate the launch. Nathan Bridger: Fine. What’s the head count? Tim O’Neill: Thirty-five, sir. Nathan Bridger: He ain’t heavy father. He’s my brother. - seaQuest DSV, launch bay - Ben Krieg: I got one more run, Chief. Manilow Crocker: OK, Lieutenant. All right clear the way for the Cap, let’s clear the way here. (turns to kid) Uh, habla inglés? (kid shakes head) Anybody around here speak English? - seaQuest DSV, Lucas’s room - Nathan Bridger: (enters) I need your room, and you’re needed in the launch bay. Go on, move, and shut the door. Lucas Wolenczak: Fine. (leaves) William Noyce: (on screen) Nathan. Nathan Bridger: Bill, I was told to stop a submarine carrying emeralds. Not to attack children. William Noyce: (on screen) Look, I’m a shocked about all this as you are. Nathan Bridger: I fired on them. William Noyce: (on screen) Amazonian Confederation asked for our help. Nathan Bridger: Not to commit genocide. William Noyce: (on screen) Well, maybe there’s another sub. Nathan Bridger: Oh, there’s not another submarine for a hundred miles. William Noyce: (on screen) We can’t assume that they knew there were children on board. Nathan Bridger: Bill, this confederation had been killing children for decades. Bill. They’ve been hunting these kids down on the street like vermin. Now how are these people going to join a community of nations if this is the way they deal with poverty? William Noyce: (on screen) We responded to the plea of a member confederation. You mustn’t hold yourself responsible. Nathan Bridger; Yes, but if we condone their actions than we encourage the killing. William Noyce: (on screen) You’re making assumptions. Nathan Bridger: Oh, please. William Noyce: (on screen) Would you at least listen to what General Guzmano had to say. I have to listen to these guys all the time. Now all he wants to do is extend his thanks to you for stopping the sub. Nathan Bridger: He knows? William Noyce: (on screen) Well, yes, we notified him of your hit on the Romeo. Apparently he thinks it was a clean kill. Nathan Bridger: I’ll be more than happy to inform the General of his misconceptions. William Noyce: (on screen) Give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s the military leader of his confederation, and we still adhere to the democratic principles which demand the presumption of innocence. (Bridger smiles sarcastically) - Romeo - Jonathan Ford: Boat’s clear. It’s just us. Ben Krieg: We’re full, Commander. Shan will dock as soon after we pull away. Jonathan Ford: OK, go. Go. We’ll be out of here in a minute. - seaQuest DSV, bridge - Miguel Ortiz: Captain, surface vessels arriving. Amazonian cutters, a mile out. Nathan Bridger: Where are the launches? Katie Hitchcock: MR-4 is docked at the launch bay. MR-3’s still at the Romeo. Nathan Bridger: Tell Ford to hurry. I’m sure the Amazonians don’t want us to keep these boys. - seaQuest DSV, launch bay - Manilow Crocker: Hey, you boys put that box down. Put it down. Nathan Bridger: (on speaker) Chief. Manilow Crocker: (kid takes speaker) What the? Nathan Bridger: (on speaker) Chief. Manilow Crocker: Hey, no, no, no. Here. (fights kid for speaker) Nathan Bridger: (on speaker) Crocker. Manilow Crocker: (into speaker) Aye, Cap, aye, Cap. Nathan Bridger: (on bridge) They’ve got cutters coming. Make sure the kids are tucked away safely. Manilow Crocker: Aye, sir. Oh, Lucas, thank goodness. Listen, can you give me some help here? Let’s see if we can gather up all these kids and get ‘em over to sea deck. Malique: They need to eat. Lucas Wolenczak: How ‘bout the crew mess? Manilow Crocker: That’s fine. That’s a great idea. Let’s get ‘em in a column of two’s, OK. Lucas Wolenczak: I’m Lucas. Malique: Malique. (shakes hands with Lucas) - seaQuest DSV, bridge - Tim O’Neill: Captain, an urgent transmission from a General Guzmano, Amazonian Confederation. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) Captain Bridger. Nathan Bridger: General. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) Thank you for your swift action. I sent ships to take care of the salvage. Nathan Bridger: You sent cutters. Those are for confrontation, not recovery. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) Our cutters can handle the salvage. Nathan Bridger: We sunk it, we’ll mop up afterwards. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) Emeralds back our currency. I cannot allow you on the Romeo. It would be like America allowing me to wander around Fort Knox. Nathan Bridger: I’m obligated to pick up survivors. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) I don’t want you on that boat. I have to protect my confederation’s interests. Sorry. Miguel Ortiz: Captain, depth charges. Katie Hitchcock: Sound collision. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) We’re not attacking you, we’re only keeping you from the Romeo. Nathan Bridger: That’s garbage General, and you know it. There are no emeralds, just scared little boys. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) I didn’t say you could board the Romeo. You’re holding our citizens in our waters. International law requires you return them. Nathan Bridger: I’m holding political refugees. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) You’re giving sanctuary to revolutionaries. Nathan Bridger: Revolutionaries from what? The little league? Shut him off. Get me the launch. Tim O’Neill: Depth charges interfering with communication. Miguel Ortiz: Sediment swirl, I’m losing sonar. Katie Hitchcock: Solutions on the cutters. Obatu: Firing solutions prepared. Nathan Bridger: The launch clear of the Romeo? Miguel Ortiz: Yes, sir. Nathan Bridger: Than don’t fire. I’m not gonna take part in their blood bath. What’s the ETA on the launch? Miguel Ortiz: I’m totally blind, I just know it’s away. The WSKRS can’t see through the mud cloud. Katie Hitchcock: Captain, we have to back off or fire. Nathan Bridger: Wait a minute, what mud cloud? Miguel Ortiz: The charges are kicking up a huge cloud of it off the bottom. It’s sonar opaque. Nathan Bridger: Commander, take us to the bottom. Katie Hitchcock: Yes, sir. (looks doubtful) Nathan Bridger: (walks over to Hitchcock) We’re going down below the silt, the mud that covers the bottom, the nephaloid. We can stay hidden down there. Katie Hitchcock: Yeah, but what about the launch? Nathan Bridger: Well, they’re not going to stop dropping the charges until they think we’ve run for it. If we stay hidden, we may be able to come back and save the launch. Got it? Katie Hitchcock: Yeah. Nathan Bridger: Good. - sea launch - Computer: Hull integrity compromised. Initiating emergency surfacing. Jonathan Ford: Drop everything and strap yourselves in. Kristin Westphalen: Cynthia, strap yourself in. (ship rocks, Cynthia bumps into wall) Cynthia! Oh my God. (goes over to Cynthia) William Shan: Where’s seaQuest? Kristin Westphalen: Jonathan! Jonathan Ford: Take it. (gets up) Kristin Westphalen: Med unit, there. Jonathan Ford: (comes down stairs, grabs unit from kid) How is she? Kristin Westphalen: We’ve gotta get her back to seaQuest. Jonathan Ford: Problem, Doctor, seaQuest is gone. - seaQuest DSV, bridge - Miguel Ortiz: The cutter’s gone. So’s the launch. Nathan Bridger: Use all your assets. Commander, send out your probe. Katie Hitchcock: Yes, sir. - Amazonian Confederation, Guzmano’s office - Luis Guzmano: They’ll parade those boys before the world, and the world will villify us. There’ll be embargoes, restrictions; this is an economic disaster. Colonel Miguel: Foreign economies profit more from our businesses than we do; there won’t be any embargoes. Maybe a dip in tourism, but that money doesn’t stay here anyway. It goes to travel service conglomerates headquartered throughout New England. Luis Guzmano: Tourism is how the world perceives us. We’re an exotic tropical destination full of simple, colorful people. If the world sees past our beach — Colonel Miguel: The world knows we’re poor. Let them keep these kids. We should invite them to back up their fleet and take as many of them as they can catch. We should thank them for it. Luis Guzmano: They’re not kids, they’re witnesses. Now you go out and find them before they testify. Colonel Miguel: They’re gone. SeaQuest is the fastest ship in the water, they vanish like a ghost. Luis Guzmano: (angrily) I’ll chisel that on your tombstone. Colonel Miguel: Why are you threatening me. Luis Guzmano: Because you’re stupid not to see the ramifications of this. Can you say Mmm baa, Miguel? Because the world will want a scapegoat. Mmm baa. Colonel Miguel: I’ll find them. (leaves) - seaQuest DSV, bridge - Miguel Ortiz: I’ve got the launch, it’s dead in the water. Nathan Bridger: Send your probe in for a look. Katie Hitchcock: (operating H.R. Probe) They got out. Nathan Bridger: Surface check. Miguel Ortiz: Nothing there. Nathan Bridger: Damn. - Amazonian Confederation, Curitiba Cove - Jonathan Ford: (dragging raft onto beach) We’ve gotta get out of these uniforms; we’re a target. What’s with those searchlights? William Shan: This is a police state, those lights are everywhere. Kristin Westphalen: The saltwater’s turned the antibiotics to jelly. William Shan: Commander. Cynthia: They’re hunting children, they’re not looking for us. Jonathan Ford: They’re still looking, they’ll find us. Kristin Westphalen: She can’t take much more jostling. Jonathan Ford: We don’t have a choice, there’s a patrol right behind us. Kristin Westphalen: Where are we going to go? Cynthia: Chityana, the favela, the slums. (Ford and Shan pick up Cynthia) Kristin Westphalen: Careful. (all leave, patrol comes over finds raft) - seaQuest DSV, sea deck, by the moon pool - Lucas Wolenczak: How’d she get involved in this? Malique: Cynthia was a tourist, my brother hustled her money. Man, she’s so tough, she left the beach district and ran right to the favela to find him. She found me, and she saw how they kill us. She tried to stop it. She made me want to help. Lucas Wolenczak: How’d you get a submarine? Malique: Well Cynthia raised the money and we bought it at an auction from what used to be the Cuban Navy. Lucas Wolenczak: Is your brother here now? Malique: The death squads killed him. He was ten. Lucas Wolenczak: I’m sorry. Darwin: Malique sad. Malique swim, Lucas swim. Malique: Can we? Lucas Wolenczak: Sure. - Amazonian Confederation, the favela - William Shan: (two boys enter with clothes and a bucket of water) I’ll take the clothes. Jonathan Ford: Here, give me the water. Cynthia: Mom, what’s wrong with me? Kristin Westphalen: You’re an idealist. Cynthia: That’s why I’m cold? Kristin Westphalen: You have a slight fever. Get some antibiotics into you. Cynthia: And, what else? Kristin Westphalen: You’ll be fine. You will be fine. This is what you need to make you all better. Cynthia: They’re the children, mommy. I’m an adult. What’s wrong with me? Kristin Westphalen: You’re badly bruised. You’ve probably broken a few ribs. A hospital will be able to tell us more. Cynthia: No hospital, not here. Kristin Westphalen: What on Earth possessed you to do this? (Cynthia looks at kids, Westphalen stands up, goes over to Ford) Jonathan Ford: Why are you boiling rags? Kristin Westphalen: To kill bacteria; I have to clean her cuts. We have to get her to a hospital. William Shan: No, we’ll be arrested. Kristin Westphalen: We’re just going to stay here? William Shan: Here is safe. Kristin Westphalen: Can I speak to you outside? (exits room, Ford and Shan follow) Her wounds are infected. She’ll get gangrene if she’s not treated. Jonathan Ford: I’ll try to make it to the consulate. Kristin Westphalen: She needs medicine, not diplomacy. Jonathan Ford: Well, if I can’t make it to the consulate, I’ll rob a drug store. Kristin Westphalen: This is no time for joking, Jonathan. Jonathan Ford: I’m not joking. Write down what you need. (Westphalen goes inside) SeaQuest won’t find us here. William Shan: They’ll figure out where we came ashore. Jonathan Ford: We’ve got to get back to the water. William Shan: Commander, it’s a risk. Jonathan Ford: Well this place isn’t safe. William Shan: It’s the favela, the military won’t come in here. To them, it’s already a prison. (ladies come around corner, in Portuguese) Not tonight, Sisters. Kristin Westphalen: (comes out of room) Who are they? William Shan: Salumage de Buona Morte. Kristin Westphalen: What? William Shan: Sisters of the Good Death. They ease the dying into the next world. They’re kept very busy here. Jonathan Ford: How can these people kill children? William Shan: Commerce, favela kids survive by begging on streets frequented by tourists. Kristin Westphalen: They kill children for annoying tourists? William Shan: When they’re little. See, if they want to survive to be teenagers, they deal drugs, guns, and flesh. You noticed there are only little boys, no girls. (Westphalen nods) Jonathan Ford: Yeah. William Shan: They kill the boys before they reach puberty, don’t want ‘em to procreate. Kristin Westphalen: Ohh. William Shan: (takes list from Westphalen) You wanna rob that drug store, Commander? Jonathan Ford: Yeah. We’ll be back. - Amazonian Confederation, Guzmano’s office - Colonel Miguel: We found six lungs in a raft on the beach below Chityana. Luis Guzmano: SeaQuest is still here. Colonel Miguel: Yes, but we haven’t found it yet. Luis Guzmano: Did you try calling. Lady: (on speaker) Sí, General. Luis Guzmano: (into speaker) Call seaQuest. - seaQuest DSV, ward room - Luis Guzmano: (on screen, waving aqua-lungs) Your assassins left these on the beach. Do you deny it? Has UEO sanctioned my execution? I am not afraid to fight, or die. Their blood is on your hands Captain. You return the boys and I will let you have your people back. (Bridger does not respond, angrily) Say something! Nathan Bridger: I think you are. Luis Guzmano: (on screen) I am what? Nathan Bridger: Afraid to die. (screen goes blank) - Amazonian Confederation, Guzmano’s office - Luis Guzmano: (nervous and angry) Move the desk, move the desk away from the window. Put tanks around the office, no one gets in. Find seaQuest. They sent assassins for me. Find his killers. Colonel Miguel: You should be rational Luis Guzmano: Find them. (Miguel leaves) - seaQuest DSV, ward room - Ben Krieg: Sir, he’ll kill our people. Nathan Bridger: He doesn’t have our people. If he did he would have shown them to us. What he’s got is their scuba gear. He’s let us know that they’ve come ashore, but he doesn’t know where they are. He thinks we’ve sent assassins, and that they’ll find him. (into speaker) Mr. Ortiz. Miguel Ortiz: (on speaker) Sir. Nathan Bridger: Pick a likely spot where Ford and his company would have come ashore. Miguel Ortiz; (on speaker) Yes, sir. Nathan Bridger: Mr. O’Neill, based on that I want all the maps and images you have of the area. Tim O’Neill: (on speaker) Right away, sir. Nathan Bridger: Get me Malique. Manilow Crocker: Yes, sir. (to seaman) Come with me. Nathan Bridger: Commander Ford knows we’re tracking him to the point of entry, I just hope he’s able to stay there. - Amazonian Confederation, the favela - William Shan: Hey, relax Jonathan, you look like you belong here. Jonathan Ford: Yeah, well I’d feel a lot better if I could speak the language. How do you know so much about this place? William Shan: I was born here, in better circumstances. My grandfather was one of the Vietnamese boat people, and this is where he ended up. (stops) Over there. (points) Jonathan Ford: What? William Shan: That says drug store. Jonathan Ford: Let’s go. (both run over to store and around back to alley, Ford blows open lock, both enter, alarm silently goes off) - Amazonian Confederation, the favela, in a drug store - William Shan: This says Penicillin, that’s antibiotics. Jonathan Ford: Hold up the bag. (starts scooping bottles into bag) Policeman: (in Portuguese) Stop! Stay right there. William Shan: (in Portuguese) My mother is sick. Policeman: Shut up! (grabs Ford) Handcuff him. What is your name? (Shan beats up Policemen) Jonathan Ford: Let’s get out of here. (leaves with Shan) This is bad. All right, let’s withdraw ourselves. William Shan: Don’t worry, Commander, they’re just local police. They never talk to the military. Jonathan Ford: Why not? William Shan: They’re scared of Guzmano, he’s insane. (car pulls up, Ford and Shan run, Guzmano gets out of car) Luis Guzmano: (in Portuguese) Search the favela! (soldiers run off) - Amazonian Confederation, the favela, in a house - Kristin Westphalen: Thanks, I’m not going to do it. Cynthia: Mom, please, take the children, leave. Kristin Westphalen: I’m not leaving you. Cynthia: I’m not important. Kristin Westphalen: You’re a bloody saint. Why can’t you be a normal daughter and worry about things like your own well being? Cynthia: I don’t have a normal mother. How can I be a normal daughter? Kristin Westphalen: What were you going to do with them all? Cynthia: Dad’s beach house. Kristin Westphalen: He knows about this? Cynthia: No. Kristin Westphalen: You were just going to land up on his doorstep with sixty kids? Have you thought this thing through? Cynthia: Yes. Kristin Westphalen: Your father is not very sympathetic to causes. Cynthia: He never says no to me. He’s my father, and he always . . . Kristin Westphalen: And he’s a public figure. Actually, it’s quite a good plan. Cynthia: Yeah, until you showed up. Kristin Westphalen: I’m very proud of you. I do wish you’d told me what you were doing though, I might have been able to help. Cynthia: You would have had a fit. Kristin Westphalen: No I wouldn’t. Cynthia: You would have made me feel guilty about making you worry. Kristin Westphalen: You think I’d rather get a call saying your body’d been dredged up out of the Amazon. Cynthia: I saw them kill a child. I had to do this. Kristin Westphalen: I understand. Jonathan Ford: Kristin! (enters) Kristin, there’s soldiers everywhere, we’ve got to get out of here. Shan. Shan. (looks outside, sees Shan talking to ladies) - seaQuest DSV, sea deck, by the moon pool - Nathan Bridger: With all the progress we’ve made I still think we’re living in the dark ages. Darwin: Why? Nathan Bridger: I don’t know why. Why are dolphins interested in humans? We always manage to destroy our own futures. Darwin: Man is good. Nathan Bridger: And bad. Darwin: Does not matter. Bad sinks, the future floats. Nathan Bridger: (laughs) I’m sending a launch to help Commander Ford. I want you to stay close to it. I need you to help keep our future afloat. Darwin: Darwin help. Nathan Bridger: Commander. Katie Hitchcock: (on speaker) Yes, Captain. Nathan Bridger: Pressurize the moon pool and open the hull doors. Katie Hitchcock: (on speaker) Aye, aye, sir. Nathan Bridger: I’ll be in the ward room if you need me. - seaQuest DSV, ward room - Nathan Bridger: Well, with no current to fight, I think they would have come ashore about here. Why aren’t there any village markings here? Tim O’Neill: That’s a shanty town, there aren’t any streets mapped there. Malique: Chityana, favela. Tim O’Neill: I swept the area for communications, they didn’t respond. Nathan Bridger: Well their phones could have shorted out if they got wet. Ben Krieg: They probably don’t have weapons to defend themselves with either. Malique: They have the favela, the military hates to go in there. Nathan Bridger: Guzmano thinks we sent in assassins, he’ll go in there. Manilow Crocker: I can, uh, take a team in, Cap. Nathan Bridger: No, no, no, do you speak Portuguese? Tim O’Neill: I do. Nathan Bridger: Yes, but can you look like you belong there? Miguel Ortiz: I can. I’m Cuban, I speak Spanish. It’s not Portuguese, but it’s close. This is my confederation, Captain. Nathan Bridger: OK. In and out. Miguel Ortiz: Yes, sir. Manilow Crocker: I’ll assemble a team. Nathan Bridger: No, Chief, I think two men’ll look less suspicious than eight. Manilow Crocker: (looks at Malique) He’s, uh, he’s just a kid, Cap. Nathan Bridger: No, he’s not. You know where they are, don’t you? Malique: I know exactly where they are. - Amazonian Confederation, the favela, a house - Jonathan Ford: (soldiers enter, see Sisters of the Good Death around Cynthia, who is laying on floor, as soldier goes to Westphalen, with her back to door, people enter with candles they lay at Cynthia’s feet, soldier leaves) Can you treat her on seaQuest? Kristin Westphalen: Yes. Jonathan Ford: OK, we’re going to get back to our point of entry and pray that seaQuest has figured out where that is. Kristin Westphalen: Jonathan, we can’t move her without a stretcher. Jonathan Ford: We don’t have a choice. Kristin Westphalen: I think she is bleeding internally. Bending and twisting down those narrow paths would kill her. If we’re gonna move her, she has to be kept completely still. Otherwise, I’m just going to stay here with her and we’ll just take our chances with the soldiers. William Shan: (rips board out of wall) Here’s our stretcher. - Amazonian Confederation, Curitiba Cove - Malique: (jumps out of raft) What are you doing? Miguel Ortiz: (pushes buttons on raft) Hiding it. (jumps out) It’ll hold position a hundred yards out. (into speaker) We’re dry. (to Malique) Where do we go? (Malique points, they run to edge of town, Ortiz pulls out binoculars) Malique: What is it? Miguel Ortiz: The head honchos. Great. Malique: Searching for your people. Miguel Ortiz: I know. That’s Guzmano, but we can still go in. (puts drops in eyes and on shirt) How, how do my eyes look? Malique: Like you’re drunk. Miguel Ortiz: Good. Malique: You smell drunk. Miguel Ortiz: That’s the point. Now if they stop us, you’re gonna have to do the talking. Malique: They shoot drunks for sport. Miguel Ortiz: You got another way in? Malique: No. Miguel Ortiz: Than make this work. Step back, let me look. Malique: We doing this or not? Miguel Ortiz: Hang on, doesn’t feel right yet. Colonel Miguel: (group comes down street, in Portuguese) Stop. Miguel Ortiz: They’re stopping our people. (Colonel Miguel looks at Cynthia) Ford sees me. Colonel Miguel: (in Portuguese) Go on. Miguel Ortiz: All right, they’re through. I’ll get the boat. (leaves) Colonel Miguel: (to Guzmano) What is it? (Guzmano grabs binoculars) Luis, it’s a funeral. (Guzmano sees Westphalen’s sneakers under cape) Luis Guzmano: (in Portuguese) Get them! (soldiers run after group) Malique: (as Ford, Shan, and Westphalen run by with Cynthia) Go, go, boat’s at the beach. (runs out, grabs stick, stops first soldier, runs off) Sister: (in Portuguese) Run. Run! Luis Guzmano: (in Portuguese) Get them! Shoot them! Miguel Ortiz: (on boat) Commander. (throws jacket to Ford) Jonathan Ford: Go! Now! (with Shan, pushes boat into water and jumps in, Malique runs into water as soldiers run onto beach) Luis Guzmano: (in Portuguese) Boy, come here. Kristin Westphalen: (on boat) Oh dear God. Luis Guzmano: (in Portuguese) I said come here. (Darwin bumps Malique, both disappear under water, to Miguel) Mmm baa. Jonathan Ford: (Malique and Darwin surface by boat) Way to go, Darwin. (hears shot from shore) Colonel Miguel: (in Portuguese) Return to your posts. - seaQuest DSV, bridge - Nathan Bridger: I didn’t know a face could be that many colors. Tim O’Neill: Got that call, Captain. Kristin Westphalen: Oh, she’s been quite colorful ever since she was a child. Cynthia: Mom. Kristin Westphalen: Well it’s true. Nathan Bridger: You know what they said when I was a kid? Word to your mother. Excuse me. Colonel Miguel: (on screen) Captain Bridger. Nathan Bridger: Colonel. Colonel Miguel: (on screen) We have investigated and found you to be correct. Nathan Bridger: Have you? Colonel Miguel: (on screen) Yes, there was a secret society of soldiers murdering children. It was led by General Guzmano. He confessed to his atrocities before committing … suicide. His allies have all been arrested. The boys can return to their home, which is for them Voltar Casa. Nathan Bridger: (looks at frightened kids) Oh, they’ll come home, Colonel, but first they’re going to visit my home for a while. Go to school, maybe even to college. Some of them might even go to Annapolis or West Point. Then they’ll be coming home Colonel, with all the memories that you and the General have given them. (screen goes blank) All right, Mr. Shan, get us out of here. All ahead full. William Shan: Yes, sir, all ahead full. Helmsman: All ahead full, aye. Nathan Bridger: Do we have any, uh, ice cream or anything? Malique: (in Portuguese) Ice cream. (kids all cheer)
